What we collect

What we collect and why.

Ask Us chat
The questions you type, a random visitor ID and a conversation ID. They are sent to our chat provider, Boostivity, to generate answers from information about Agents-C. Please don't enter sensitive personal information in the chat.
Contact form
Your name, email address, phone number (optional), any message you add, and the page you were on. They are emailed to us so we can reply.
Abuse prevention
When you send the contact form, a one-way hash of your IP address is used for one hour to limit repeated submissions, then deleted automatically within 30 days.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs, including your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.
On your device

What is stored in your browser.

Local storage
Nothing is stored until you use the chat. When you send your first message, chatVisitorId and chatConversationId are created so the chat can continue your conversation; askDraft keeps a question you've typed but not sent. They stay until you clear your browser data, and "New chat" clears the conversation.
Session storage
chatHistory keeps the chat transcript while you move between pages. It is deleted when you close the tab.
Cookies
We don't use cookies, and we don't use advertising or analytics tracking.
How we use it

Only to answer you and run the site.

We use personal data to answer your questions in the chat, reply to your enquiries, and keep the website secure and working.

We don't sell personal data, and we don't share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

No longer than we need it.

We keep contact-form enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and delete them when they are no longer needed. Chat conversations are stored by our chat provider to run the chat. You can ask us to delete your enquiry or chat conversation at any time.

Sharing

Who else receives it.

We share personal data only with the service providers that run this website: our chat provider (Boostivity), our website hosting provider and our email provider. They process it only to provide their services to us.

We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.

Security

How we protect it.

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, the contact form is protected against automated abuse, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Your rights

What you can ask us to do.

Wherever you are, you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.

If you live in a US state with its own privacy law, such as California, Virginia or Colorado, you may have further rights under that law. We will respond to requests as those laws require, and we will never treat you differently for making one.

To make a request, email hello@agents-c.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.

Tracking

Tracking and Do Not Track.

We don't track you across other websites, and we don't allow third parties to collect information about your activity on this site over time or across other sites. Our chat provider receives only what you send in the chat, with the random visitor and conversation IDs described above.

Because we don't track visitors, the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

Children

Children's privacy.

This website is for businesses and isn't aimed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email hello@agents-c.com and we'll delete it.

Where we're based

Which law applies.

This policy is written for United States law, including California's Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). If we change where Agents-C is based, we will update this policy to reflect the law that applies.

Changes

Changes to this policy.

When we change this policy, we update it on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use your personal data, we'll say so clearly at the top of this page.
